    Plano lies mostly in Collin county, with a small portion in Denton county. Plano is located about 20 miles north of Dallas, and according to the 2019 US Census estimates, the population is 287,677.

    One incredible annual event in Plano is the Plano Balloon Festival and Run. This weekend event features 40+ hot air balloons, live entertainment, food vendors, arts and crafts, kid zones, parachute exhibitions, fireworks show, and more! The weekend also includes Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1K runs. The festival is scheduled for September 18-20, 2020.

    Each summer, the Plano All-American Fourth is known for it’s spectacular fireworks show choreographed to music from Oak Point Park.

    The first weekend every May is ASIAFEST, the Celebration of Asian Heritage and Culture with Demonstrations and Exhibits. The community-wide festival is sponsored and produced by Plano’s Asian Communities.

    October is alive with diversity during the Plano International Festival which takes place in Historic Downtown Plano at Haggard Park to celebrate Plano’s diversity and instill culture awareness. through demonstrations, entertainment, and food.
