The reservation machines are churning for DFW Restaurant Week, which starts August 7, with some restaurants offering a preview weekend from August 3 through 6. Dinners are available for tiered, set prices, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope, which offers prevention and early intervention services to support childhood development.
This year’s options and prices are as follows:
Dinner — three courses for $39 ($8 donated) or $49 ($10 donated)
Signature Experience Dinner — an exclusive VIP experience created by select restaurants. May include signature cocktails, a chef’s table, or additional courses for $99 ($20 donated)
Lunch — two courses for $24 ($4 donated), available at participating restaurants
Weekend Brunch — two courses for $29 ($6 donated), available at participating restaurants
Hundreds of restaurants are participating in it, including these restaurants on the Eater Dallas 38 essential restaurants for summer 2023: Al Biernat’s (North and Oak Lawn), Anise, Don Artemio, Jalisco Norte, Nonna, and Rye.
And beyond that list, which already has our endorsement, here are some top spots to make a reservation and get a great deal: Apothecary, Billy Can Can (one of our best meals in June), Carbone Vino, Dea, Javier’s, Knife Plano, La Stella Cucina Verace, Loro (Dallas and North Dallas), Musume (Dallas and Fort Worth), Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, Niwa Japanese BBQ, Ramble Room (specifically for lunch or brunch), Sadelle’s, Sassetta, and Tulum.
Ten50 is coming to Lover’s Lane
If you love its barbecue but hate going to Richardson (look, the traffic on 75 can be a nightmare), Ten50 is bringing its wares to Lover’s Lane and Preston Park, just west of the Dallas North Tollway. And it only took ten years to open a second location — this one is slated to open in the winter of 2023.
“I grew up in the neighborhood and it has been a dream of mine and my family’s to have an opportunity to serve this part of Dallas,” owner Preston Evans said in a press release.
Another members-only club is opening in late 2024
Drai’s is bringing its Vegas strip “exclusive membership club,” along with a restaurant and lounge, to Dallas Arts District. A press release promises a “precisely curated French-inspired dining experience coupled with cabaret-style entertainment,” all in a 15,000-square-foot complex. Dustin Drai, the vice president of entertainment with Drai’s Group, notes he’s an SMU alum who always planned to return to the city, and now what he looks forward “to bringing a taste of Las Vegas to Dallas.” Some might argue we already have with other Vegas imports but whatever.
Drai’s Group is working with GAP Concepts, who are behind Lyla, PostScript HTX and XOXO Dining Room in Dallas. And as far as the private, members-only part of things — that’ll be a speakeasy-style space in the venue to get small bites and cocktails away from the riff-raff, plus some special benefits and invites encompassing its Dallas and Vegas locations.
