There are a lot of elements that go into creating a romantic dining space. Obviously, it starts with excellent dishes. Then there’s the lighting, the service, the size of the space, how it’s decorated, the musical soundtrack: all of these things come together to create an ambiance that nurtures romance.
In DFW, the options for a big date are numerous. But these restaurants located throughout the Metroplex are the best places to go for a memorable, romantic night out.

Not only can a great date be planned in Deep Ellum, but it can involve eating excellent fried chicken. This long-running restaurant is in a historic former hotel and is a great option for a date who likes things to be real. Plus, the layout of the room allows for a lot of tucked away booths with low lighting that will set the mood.

Stillwell’s
This steakhouse is a tight room with extremely dim lights, velvet furniture, and luxurious vibes. If you’ve got a date that needs impressing, and you really want to put the moves on — this is where you need to make a reservation. The menu is entirely steakhouse style, so sharing a large cut of beef and some sides with an amazing glass of wine is the way to go for close night together.

St. Martin’s Wine Bistro
If an old-school sense of romance, where the room is dim as it possibly can be without turning the power off and a live piano player serenades everyone. The food is also old-school fine dining, with escargot, foie gras, its famous Champagne brie soup, rack of lamb, and duck breast l’orange all on offer.

Bar Colette
Those in the know already know that Bar Colette is the stop for incredible cocktails. The bar menu changed recently, however, and now it is serving sushi curated by chef Kazuhito “Kaz” Mabuchi who helms its next door sister spot Namo. The modern meets art deco decor and flattering lighting are nice, but the plush booth-style seating that makes it easy to get close to your lover are what push the romance here over the top.

Mot Hai Ba
Make a reservation because this tiny spot in Lakewood doesn’t hold too many folks. The great service and dark lighting go a long way towards making a romantic atmosphere, as do the excellent cocktails. Just order carefully because some dishes are spicy.

Barcelona Wine Bar
While this is an ideal spot full of dark corners and delicious bites for wine lovers, there are also lovely cocktails and beers on offer here. The highly social bar is just as romantic as any tucked away booth, however, so sit wherever the mood drives you. The menu is tapas-driven, so shared plates of cheeses and meats, hummus or whipped ricotta, seasonal vegetables, empanadas, and chorizo are on the agenda.

4115 Lomo Alto Dr (at Lemmon Ave.), Dallas, TX 75219(214) 521-1800
Georgie
Georgie is easily one of the sexiest restaurants in Dallas. It’s darkened dining room, full of curvy midcentury modern furniture, is a wonderful compliment to the ever-changing menu. For a splurge that’s also a deal, opt in on the tasting menu. Adding on wine tastings can drive the cost up but it’s a baller move.
