Everyone is reeling from the heat wave. It’s so hot you couldn’t just fry an egg on the sidewalk, you could burn it. Luckily, these pools are open and ready to let you in for a splish splash of cool water — and they all have delightful cocktail menus to boot. Coming off the list this year are the Westin Galleria Dallas and the Lorenzo Hotel. Newly added is WorldSprings.
A note that none of these pools are public, and there will be a minimal fee to access them (but there are a lot of stunning rooftop patios around town that will let you drop by for free). There are also a lot of great bars in Dallas, if the pool part is optional.
WorldSprings
What’s better than one pool? A bunch of soaking tubs that recreate the mineral composition of hot springs all over the world. Walk around and dip into the hot springs of Scandinavia, Japan, Mexico, and Europe. Float in a pool that has the saline content of the Dead Sea. Or, hang out in the large swimming pool. The menu boasts charcuterie boards, salads, a poke bowl, and flatbreads. Pair the food with an Aperol spritz, frozen prickly pear margarita, or pina colada — plus great beer and wine options. Book a visit online.
The Beeman Hotel
This renovated Park Cities hotel right on Central Expressway has a stylish indoor pool with day passes, all-day drinks, and food from the hotel’s restaurant. That means bites like pulled pork nachos, a short rib burger, and a club sandwich on a croissant. The cocktails veer towards the mystical with names like Clouds of Chai (bourbon, vanilla syrup, and chai tea foam) and Lavender Mist (tequila, lavender simple syrup, and Fever Tree pink grapefruit).
Fraternal Order of Eagles
The Fraternity of the Eagles is a no-frills, all fun, family-friendly, and utterly affordable pool to spend your hot summer days. The cocktail and beer bar keeps it simple. A refreshing plastic glass of Deep Eddy grapefruit with soda and a squeeze of lime will hit the spot, although those canned spiked seltzers seem all the rage here. Find simple bites, like cheeseburgers and wings, on hand as well.
Jade Waters Resort Pool
This massive complex at the Hilton Anatole has kid-friendly areas, massive water slides, a winding lazy river, and a swim-up bar. It also has an on-site bar and grill for bites that serves Bang Bang shrimp and a build-your-own salad or grain bowl. Book a day pass online.
The Stoneleigh
This century-old hotel has a ground-floor pool that can be quite a scene. This spot is probably more geared towards adults, although some hotel guests with kids can be seen floating by. Food and drinks from the hotel bar are available, with dishes like deviled eggs, tuna nachos, and chicken sandwiches. All the classic cocktails are available, along with summer favorites. Get a day pass to join in the fun.
The Pool Club
This rooftop pool is quite the scene, but do not bring the kids. It’s for those who are down for decadent adult fun with a DJ, foam guns, and people literally throwing money to get the pool riled up. The Pool Club menu includes veggie wraps, taco salads, burgers, and tacos. The cocktails are expectedly irreverant, with names like the Coconut Telegraph (Bacardi Coconut Rum, velvet falernum, and cream of coconut) and She’s a Very Tiki Girl (a rum and absinthe mixture that will either make you feel groovy or make you forget you ever felt anything). Passes, cabanas, and VIP options are available online.

JW Marriott Dallas Arts District
This sky-high pool in the Arts District has incredible views of the skyscrapers that dot the Arts and Uptown areas. It also has walk-through and delivery access to Vincent’s Sky Bar, where drinks like the white tea daiquiri, bergamot fizz, or Verde margarita are on offer, or leave it up to the bartender if you can’t make up your mind. Expect excellent bites, including prawn coconut shrimp, Jamaican jerk lollipops, and a smoked wagyu brisket quesadilla. Day passes for adults are available online.
Waterproof
One of the biggest party scenes in the city is happening at this 21-and-up only rooftop pool Downtown: Waterproof at the Statler Hotel. The menu features a turkey and avocado club, a smash burger, and flatbread pizzas. Go for a fun cocktail, like a classic Mai Tai or the Lime in the Coconut (Sauza Blue Blanco, Mur Mur Coconut Rum, and passionfruit). Cabanas and poolside tables are available to reserve.
The Joule
The pool at the Joule hotel in Downtown is one of the city’s coolest. The plexiglass front lets swimmers look down into the street and out into the city’s skyscrapers. Day passes are available with daybed and cabana rentals. The poolside food and drink service and the full bar feature a Gulf shrimp cocktail, a Southwestern chicken Caesar wrap, and a smoked brisket quesadilla. Treat yourself to a Blue Lagoon (Copali, blue Curacao, pineapple, and coconut cream) or the Joule Refresher (gin, honey-mint syrup, cucumber, and elderflower tonic).
Uptown Terrace
It’s the summer of spritz at Uptown Terrace. Order a grapefruit elderflower with gin and rose or a Poolside Mojito to cool down while you lounge in this glamorous pool with great city views. Day passes are available online.
Lee Harvey’s Dive In
This pool in the Cedars has a kitchen and bar that runs all day, serving mixed drinks, beers, and canned hard drinks. There’s no food unless there is a pop-up that weekend, but the smell of barbecue from Off the Bone and Baby Back Shak wafts around the block, so be prepared to feed your craving. Grab a day pass or become a member online.
Canvas Hotel Dallas
The Canvas Hotel Pool offers an array of events with tickets available on weekends at various price points, and sometimes there are discounts for early birds who buy in advance. It’s more of a pool party than a family-friendly spot. The infinity pool overlooks the Cedars, and its rooftop service includes tinga chicken nachos, steak salad, a burger, Buffalo chicken flatbread, and more. Grab a cocktail like the Berry Peachy (whiskey, peach puree, and ginger beer) or a Green With Envy (gin and Midori), or take your pick from the wine and beer selection.
